The Jobs Board with Black Film Space has truly been a place of refuge as I navigate the industry, now in my 11th year in Los Angeles. It has allowed me to secure a 10K Shea Moisture Blueprint grant for my company Jan 22 Productions, network in NYC and LA, as well as build community within spaces like Our Soul Canvas. It is a haven for Black creatives and reminds me of a “green book” of sorts for filmmakers!

The screenwriting accountability group provided the ideal space to challenge myself to commit time towards writing. It was a vibrant community where I was to develop my writing skills, moreover building a consistent habit of ‘showing up’ to write. After the program, those habits have stuck and now I’m proactive when it comes to finding time to dedicate to writing.
